Why am I being charged parcel rate for 2 letter rate books, if I want to buy them together?
Once your book purchase goes over 500g in weight or 2cm thick it automatically becomes charged at the parcel rate, however if you purchase the books with letter rates separately then they can still be sent at the cheaper letter rate, they will just be sent in 2 different envelopes.
Do you buy books off the public?
Yes! I’m happy to look at bulk lots that you may have. However I may not offer as much as you would hope or expect, simply because I do try to keep my costs low so that I can keep my resale prices low. Simply send an email with the genres, authors etc and the suburb you are in and I will get back to you ASAP.
I bought some books off you, where are they?
I will send you an email as soon as your purchase has been posted, generally at the latest 3 business days after payment has been received. Please check your email junk box if you do not receive an email, as your filter may have marked it as spam. I am located in Canberra, so postage times can vary from 1-3 days for local delivery, up to 10 business days for interstate and international airmail can potentially take up to 21 days. If you have any concerns at all then please email me.
I have specific delivery instructions, can you accomodate them?
I'm sorry, but as I use Australia Post, who have their own contractors then I am unable to write specific delivery instructions onto parcel's. Any specific needs for delivery; ie. on the back porch, behind the side gate, hidden behind the plants at the front etc do need to be addressed to your own postal worker. I do not use the 'Do Not Safe Drop' stickers, so generally parcels that will not fit into your letterbox will be left near the front door, (unless they are registered - then collection from a post office is required if no-one is home to sign).
I put a book in my shopping cart last week, but now I can’t find it.
Firstly make sure that you have registered as a customer (the cart will not hold stock in a guest or anonymous cart), if so the shopping cart should hold your book until you purchase it, however it may have dropped out of the cart for some reason, if this is the case then you just need to click the ‘buy now’ button or ‘add to cart’ button again. Or it may have sold to another buyer first, as many of my titles are one off’s then once they have sold I may not have another copy immediately available. I would suggest that you keep checking back or let me know and I will keep an eye out for another copy for you.
I’m after a particular book, just wondering if you might have it in stock?
I have lots of titles waiting to be listed, so please feel free to email any special requests and I will do my best to find one, or recommend another seller for you to try. I do generally try to list each author at the same time but may still have some here to list that I haven’t found the time to do.
How can I pay, and how soon will you send my purchase?
I accept PayPal, direct bank deposit (through a NAB account, either online or in a branch ), money order or bank cheque, and credit card payments (credit card payments can only be made through the PayPal gateway, you don’t have to have a PayPal account to pay by credit card through PayPal, just select the not a PayPal user when paying). All payment details will be available once you have gone through checkout. I am usually able to post the morning after your purchase has been made, however please allow one full business day to give me time to locate and pack them.
If you would like some extra time to pay off your purchase, please let me know. I am happy to discuss a layby purchase or payment plan (at no interest added, if it is a reasonable request).
Do repair books?
Not usually, however if all it takes is a bit of sticky tape or cleaning to make a book acceptable then I may do that. But as a general rule I leave any and all repairs to the experts, especially on a particularly rare or collectable book.
Do you charge a packing/handling fee?
Yes I do, and I also put that fee towards the actual packing of your book. It will arrive to you in the same condition as it was posted (bar any unreasonable attempts by any Australia Post employees to actually try and kill it enroute), seriously though, letters will be wrapped in paper and waterproof bags (at least, more if space and weight permits) and parcels will be waterproofed, bubble or lightly foamed wrapped, secured with cardboard and wrapped in paper.
I do not live in Australia, why are the postage/shipping costs so huge!?
Australia Post (who I send my parcels through) have just added an expensive security surcharge for all parcels sent to the USA, unfortunately my website does not allow me to only add this onto USA purchases, this surcharge needs to be added to the postage costs. Any large over-charge on postage will be refunded back ASAP after your parcel has been posted. Please note that I do not send anything via seamail (only Airmail), as it just simply takes too long for internet purchases.
Do you use my personal information for anything?
Yes I do, I will use any information you provide to fill your order, advise you of any sales occuring or new stock arriving. Your information will never be sold onto any third party and is kept securely onsite. You are able to opt out of receiving any newsletters or emails at anytime by clicking on unsubscribe or by requesting your details be removed from the website. By registering as a customer then you have inferred consent to receving update emails (however you will not receive a website newsletter unless you have specifically subscribed to receive the newsletter.) If you believe that you have received an email in error then please advise ASAP so it can be rectified promptly.
I do not live in Australia, what currency are your books in and how do I find the exchange rate?
As I am based in Australia, all of the books listed are priced in Australian Dollars (AUD), if you are paying by PayPal then PayPal will automatically convert your payment according to the current exchange rate - you don't have to do anything.
