About Us

The Hungry Bookshelf was established in 2009 after the birth of my twins. I was then a stay at home mum and working on the website suited our situation. I then ended up with 3 kids under 3 so was even buiser and running the website gave me sanity around the hustle and bustle of my young family.

It is now over 15 years on and I am working full-time in an office job, my kids are all young adults (or close) and the website still gives me sanity from the hustle and bustle of a not so young family and my day-time work.

I source books from garage sales, thrift shops and book fairs, so if you are looking for a particular title please let me know and I will keep an eye out for it.

The Hungry Bookshelf is a cat-friendly housework and we now have 2 helpful rascals in residence.
